Our mission is to provide no-cost soccer programs for children in Jacksonville's urban core.

Our vision is that all children in Jacksonville will have the opportunity to play soccer regardless of race, gender, or socioeconomic status.  

Who we are
Sporting Jax, also known as the Jacksonville Urban Youth Soccer Initiative, is a 501(3)(c) nonprofit organization that provides no-cost soccer programs for children and youth in Jacksonville's urban core. Neighborhoods located in Jacksonville's urban core, have a void of affordable, organized athletic opportunities for boys and girls. Sporting Jax seeks to address this void by putting on soccer programs that are no-cost, organized, accessible, and inclusive for boys and girls of all ages.

What we do
During our programs, players are introduced to the game of soccer through organized, upbeat and energetic programs. Players typically start with a whole group warm-up. Then players are split into small, age specific groups and will participate in activities that break down various skills and tactics of the game of soccer. Finally, players are placed on teams to play competitive, fun scrimmage games. Coaches serve as mentors and role models to the players by listening and encouraging players. Our coaches also tend to be the loudest to cheer during goal celebrations.  During our programs, children are provided with lunch. Lunch is a time where all players, parents, coaches and volunteers stop to share a meal together.  Sporting Jax puts to action the values of Sportsmanship: fairness and generosity. We talk with the children every program about these values in addition to one more: pride. We want children to be proud of themselves and what they do on and off the field. Sporting Jax encourages children to be good sports and pushes them to be the best version of themselves.
